Harry Hamilton Johnston

Harry Hamilton Johnston (1858–1927) was a British explorer, botanist, linguist and colonial administrator, one of the key players in the "Scramble for Africa" that occurred at the end of the 19th century[1]. He authored the book Liberia in 1906 which has many illustrations and photos that were later used as the basis for Liberian stamps.
